We might win, and of course, we think we deserve to. But even if we don’t, we’re going to learn a lot, and meet the investors and partners IB will need in the coming months and years.

So, what is Alhambra Venture? It looks like a fascinating event, which has been running for a decade in Spain. It brings together start-ups from across southern Spain, with investors and others, to look at how innovation can be funded, and can scale up.

In their own words, it’s an “initiative of the IDEAL newspaper that promotes entrepreneurship in the south of Spain” and “a space where entrepreneurs, investors and experts can connect, collaborate and expand their projects. With the support and experience of the IDEAL newspaper, this event has established itself as the benchmark for the entrepreneurial ecosystem in our region”.

Sounds pretty good. Here’s our page on their site. We are pitching on July 11, and you can see the Alhambra Venture 2024 program

At the event, we will speaking about what we’re doing at InsectBiotech’s farms, our plans to convert huge volumes of waste to valuable products, the climate benefits of this, and the role of the black soldier fly’s larvae in making that happen.

Stay tuned for updates! We will share our experiences and insights from Alhambra Venture after the event. In the meantime, check out this article about the finals from Abc.es, a Spanish newspaper.

Wish us luck. We’ll report back afterwards on what we learned.
