Sami El-Molla Vidal

Product Specialist

Sami brings to InsectBiotech experience in the agri-food sector, particularly focused on sustainable development of innovative products and comprehensive value chain analysis. Specialized in transforming agricultural by-products into organic fertilizers and biostimulants using black soldier fly larvae (BSF), Sami collaborates with institutions such as the University of Granada (UGR) to optimize processes and comply with European regulations.

Education

Sami holds a Master’s degree in Agri-food Sciences “Food Identity,” completed at universities in France (École Supérieure d’Agricultures d’Angers, VetAgro Sup), Italy (Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore), Romania (University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine), and Greece (Centre for Research and Technology Hellas – CERTH). Through this program, Sami gained an international perspective on food safety (HACCP), applied microbiology, value chain analysis, and the development of sustainable local products.

Professional Experience

In 2024, as an Intern Researcher at Origin for Sustainability (Switzerland), Sami participated in a study focused on the sustainable development of traditional dairy products in mountainous regions, analyzing the impact of Protected Designations of Origin (PDO) in Italy’s Molise region. This work resulted in a scientific publication as lead author in the journal MDPI.

Previously, Sami collaborated with the AgroTransilvania Cluster (Romania, 2023) as a consultant on a project to reactivate farmers’ markets. Sami also contributed remotely to launching an NGO focused on social aid and reducing food waste, managing a student team. Additionally, Sami worked with Centro ASSAGGIATORI – Italian Tasters (Italy, 2023), helping create professional sensory analysis tests and participating in specialized courses on emblematic products such as coffee, cocoa, tomato, olive oil, Parmigiano cheese, Modena balsamic vinegar, wine, and honey.

 

Fluent in Spanish, English, French, and Italian, Sami effectively facilitates communication within international teams, enhancing multicultural collaboration.

Sami’s contributions help position InsectBiotech as a leader in regenerative, local, and sustainable agricultural solutions.
